Conservation and Reclamation Program – Alberta
The upstream oil and gas conservation and reclamation program supports the return of land used for oil and gas development to a productive state. Alberta requires operators of activities on specified land, including upstream oil and gas sites, must conserve and reclaim their sites to equivalent land capability. This means a reclaimed site will support a range of uses that is similar to what the site could have supported before it was disturbed.
